Place a large scoop of frozen dairy dessert on a dessert plate, then place a smaller scoop on top. Lean a small candy cane against the lower scoop, pressing firmly into ice cream (like a walking cane). Use cake decorating candies or mini chocolate chips for eyes, mouth and buttons and decorate like a snowman. Place a peppermint patty on top of scoop and place gumdrop or peanut butter cup askew on top of the patty like a top hat. Scatter shredded coconut or white chocolate shavings lightly around and on top of each snowman and serve.
